About
The foundation for making meaningful change begins with self-acceptance. My aim is to support clients in moving towards self-compassion.
“Clearly recognizing what is happening inside us, and regarding what we see with an open, kind and loving heart, is what I call Radical Acceptance".
Tara Brach, Radical Acceptance
I work from a trauma-informed, strength-based, narrative, person-centred perspective which emphasizes people’s capacity to develop their own potential. Central to this practice is the belief that clients are the experts of their own lives.
My goal is to help you develop a sense of inner safety and peace as a way to strengthen your capacity to move forward from painful life experiences.
I offer both Art Therapy and Talk Therapy. As a trained Art Therapist, I invite clients into the art making process with the goal of promoting symbolic thinking, emotional release, emotional repair and spontaneous expression. Art Therapy is intended to facilitate insights into the reasons for emotional distress by uncovering many underlying dimensions of our personal stories. Art Therapy can help in integrating and understanding a range of feelings. In Art Therapy the emphasis is not on the product but on the creative process.
It is my belief that art in all its forms, has the capacity to transform our lives. It is my hope that through the therapeutic process my clients build self-compassion and recognition of their resiliency and strength.
